Community Project Funding
OVERVIEW
Community project funding requests are congressionally directed spending requests submitted by Members of Congress for their respective congressional districts to the Committee on Appropriations for potential inclusion in the appropriations bills. Each request must meet strict eligibility guidelines set by the House of Representatives Committee on Appropriations. Specifically, requests need to follow the guidelines from the subcommittee of jurisdiction within the Appropriations Committee. In addition, requests must demonstrate strong community support. House regulations require that Members certify no financial interest for the Member or their immediate family in community project funding requests. U.S. Congressman Craig Goldman has certified that none of the requests he has submitted for Texas’ Twelfth Congressional District projects have financial ties to him or his immediate family.
FISCAL YEAR 2027 PROJECTS
Project Name: Parker County Water Planning Study
Intended Recipient: Weatherford City Hall
Address of the Project: 303 Palo Pinto Street, Weatherford, TX 76086
Requested Amount: $1,500,000
Member Certification Letter
Project Summary: The project includes planning for the provision of drinking water to all of Parker County. Existing Parker County residents are facing a dwindling supply of drinking water amid growing demands for service from new and existing residential and commercial users. These funds will support this ongoing planning effort and initiate preliminary engineering, providing stakeholders with information required to make organizational and funding decisions. These include the identification of potential water sources and completing the planning necessary to allow the County to create the organizational infrastructure, capital improvement plans, and corresponding cost estimates necessary to apply for long-term financing.
Project Name: Taxiway Hotel Extension Project
Intended Recipient: Alliance Fort Worth Airport
Address of the Project: 13901 Aviator Way, Suite 270, Fort Worth, TX 76177
Requested Amount: $7,500,000
Member Certification Letter
Project Summary: The Taxiway Hotel Extension Project would further the expansion, job creation, and tax base for the airport and the surrounding area. The Taxiway Extension would allow existing aviation maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) operations located at the airport to expand, as well as provide access to additional airport property for aviation-related MROs, creating jobs and economic growth for the airport and the region. The Alliance development has been centered around the airport, and this project will continue that record of job creation and add to the significant economic impact Alliance Texas has had on the North Texas area. This development of the Taxiway Hotel Extension will generate high-quality aviation jobs, strengthen the already strong regional aerospace sector, and expand the tax base.
Project Name: Boat Club Road Improvements
Intended Recipient: Tarrant County Commissioners Court
Address of the Project: 6713 Telephone Road, Fort Worth, TX 76135
Requested Amount: $5,000,000
Member Certification Letter
Project Summary: Investing in the final design and environmental review phase of the Boat Club Road Improvements project is a responsible and strategic use of taxpayer dollars because it unlocks access to significantly larger state and federal funding for construction. This project has already been identified as a regionally significant arterial, demonstrating its importance to long-term mobility and economic growth in one of the fastest-growing areas of Tarrant County. By widening approximately 10 miles of FM 1220 to a 6-lane divided roadway, the project will reduce congestion, improve travel times, and enhance safety for thousands of daily users. Planned upgrades—including modern pavement, shared-use paths, improved drainage, and updated traffic signals—will create a safer, more efficient, and more accessible corridor for drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians alike. Completing the environmental review ensures compliance with federal standards while incorporating public input, reducing risks of delays or costly redesigns later. Ultimately, this investment positions the region to deliver a high-impact infrastructure project through a strong multi-agency partnership while maximizing the return on taxpayer funding.
