WASHINGTON, DC —Reps. Craig Goldman (R-TX-12) and Marc Veasey (D-TX-33), who represent Fort Worth, have introduced the Kay Granger Post Office Act, which would commemorate the legacy of Texas trailblazer and former Congresswoman Kay Granger by designating a post office in her memory.
“During her many years of service to Fort Worth—as city councilwoman, mayor, and U.S. Congresswoman—Kay worked tirelessly to care for the city and community she loved,” said Congressman Craig Goldman. “Alongside Rep. Marc Veasey, I have introduced this bill to further honor her legacy by naming a U.S. Postal Service office in her honor.”
"The Honorable Congresswoman Kay Granger dedicated over three decades of her life to serving the people of North Texas and opened doors of opportunity for women in public service. She will be remembered as an advocate who fought to deliver for the community she was proud to call home. Representative Granger left an unforgettable mark in Fort Worth, and I am proud to support the renaming of this post office in her memory to honor a legacy of service to our nation,” said Congressman Marc Veasey.
The Kay Granger Post Office Act would:
