Legislation & Actions:

  •  Homeowner Energy Freedom ActPassed the U.S. House
    • Rep. Goldman is leading the Homeowner Energy Freedom Act, which repeals Biden-era green energy mandates imposed on home appliances in new home construction. Eliminating these costly requirements could reduce the price of a new home by up to $31,000.
  • Don't Tax the American Dream ActIntroduced to the U.S. House
    • Rep. Goldman is leading the Don’t Tax the American Dream Act, which would eliminate federal capital gains taxes on the sale of a primary residence after a homeowner has lived in the property for two years. Current exemption caps of $250,000 for individuals and $500,000 for married couples have not been updated since 1997. As home values have risen significantly, these outdated limits discourage homeowners from selling and reduce housing supply.
  • Affordable HOMES Act – Passed the U.S. House
    • Rep. Goldman is co-sponsoring the Affordable HOMES Act to eliminate duplicative red tape, refocus regulatory authority, and reduce the cost of building new homes
